D.O.O. Agrounija Indjija (Serbia)

Agrounija is registered 1974th year, as the successor of the SOEs, "Agricultural Combine Inđija". "Agricultural Combine Inđija" was founded in 1963. It consisted of 6 units of agriculture, "SZR SREM" and enterprises producing eggs "Vojvodinaprodukt". 1976th The company was transformed into a company "Agrounija". From "Agrounija" 1990 the agricultural set aside 6 units and "Vojvodinaprodukt". 1999th The company is registered as an Agricultural Industrial Complex "Agrounija" public company with unlimited liability Indjija
The main activity of "Agrounija" is agricultural production: farming, fruit- growing, grape-growing, outward treatment of seeds, livestock breeding and fish farming. Its ancillary activities are: transport of goods, wholesale and trade, catering, repair and maintenance of vehicles, research work. With agricultural lands of over 7,700 ha and sales of EUR 6.1 mn in 2002, the company ranks among the largest in terms of cultivated land and production volumes in the whole of Yugoslavia. The company’s major products include wheat, corn, sugar beet and sunflower. Almost 100 % of the sales are made domestically.
Organisationally, the company is composed of 5 operational units:
1. Crop Farming (vegetables, fruit and seed production)
2. Cattle breeding plant (pigs and poultry)
3. Fruit Production lines (apples, pears, plums)
4. Vegetable Production Line (peppers tomatoes, potatoes)
5. Services (transport, catering and trade)
Overall revenues of the company in 2002 totalled EUR 8,4 mn. Sales revenues in YUM have decreased in 2002 compared to 2001 (in 2001 increased by 71.31% compared to 2000).
Privatisation Agency approved the offer of Brazda Coop for purchaise of Agrounija and started negotiations for finalizing the contract. Brazda Coop offered EUR 5 mn. for 70% stake in the company, EUR 5.35 mn for investments as well as EUR4.1 mn for the social program.
