Lian Hwa Foods Corp. was established on July 7, 1980 as the manufacturer of seaweed and beans. In 1993 the company made public offering and in 1995 the company was listed on Taiwan Stock Exchange. The company is principally engaged in the manufacture, processing and distribution of snack food products. The company owns 9 popular food brands, and 7 of them has history of more than 20 years. Its products range from pea crackers, potato chips, nuts, to seaweed. The following are its 9 brands: .Koloko, Cadina. Patata, Lucky stars, Yuan-Ben-Shan, Viva Nuts, Ginia, Wowzai, Hoka Hoka. The company also involves in agent distribution of snack food products. In 2001 it established a new business division called the “Fresh Foods”, to meet the consumer demands of food convenience, delicacy and healthiness. The manufacturing sites are located in Keelung and Chunghua cities. In order to diversify its business areas, in 2008 it e established a new division called the New Lifestyle. This division is responsible to develop new business markets and business models. In 2009, a new diet brand called KgCheck has been launched for the first time; the new products include a variety of meal replacements.
