Global View Co., Ltd. was established in 1986. In the initial period of development, the company was primarily engaged in R&D and manufacturing technology products, such as terminals, servers etc. Within a few years, it became No. 1 Chinese and English terminal manufacturer in Taiwan. In 1993, it took the lead in developing the first internet terminal server RAS in Taiwan which was soon widely adopted by securities brokers, banks and telecommunication firms. With subsequent developments in microprocessors, it turned into the largest domestic Multi-port Card manufacturer. In 1996, utilizing superior capability in system integration and semiconductor design, it developed the most compact electronic dictionary in Taiwan-HOT TECH Electronic Dictionary. HOT TECH has become one of the best favorite brands in the world. Global View group organization spreads through Taiwan, Mainland China and Hong Kong. In Mainland China and Hong Kong, the registered name is "WenQuxing", a famous brand standing for a leader of language learners. Since two brands HOT TECH and WenQuxing were built, the sales volume has been up to 30 million. The company received ISO9002 quality assurance system certification in December 1998 and ISO14001 environment managemnt system certification in December 1999. On August 26, 2002 the company was listed on Taiwan Stock Exchange. Currently the company provides consumer electronic products, electronic components, as well as computer and network peripheral equipment, which include electronic dictionaries, game consoles, electronic calculators, moving picture expert group layer-3 (MP3) audio players and digital audio recorders, among others. The company distributes its products principally in Taiwan and the rest of Asia. During the year 2009, the company obtained approximately 81% of its total revenue from the sale of consumer electronic products.
