Societe Chimique Alkimia Sa is a company located in Tunis Capital, Tunisia. It was founded on September 26th, 1972 and began production in 1976. The company specializes in the production of sodium tripolyphosphate (STPP), a phosphate salt used in the detergent and ceramic industries. The STPP is produced through a chemical process using phosphoric acid from the Tunisian Chemical Group and soda ash imported from the USA. Societe Chimique Alkimia has undergone several projects to improve the quality of its product and increase its production capacity to 140,000 tons per year. In November 2009, the company created a subsidiary called ALKIMIA-Packaging Ltd for the packaging and marketing of soda ash in Tunisia and North Africa. Additionally, in August 2011, the company established another subsidiary called Les Salines de Tataouine Ltd for the extraction, production, and marketing of sodium sulfate in Tunisia, North Africa, and Europe.
