METRO Cash & Carry Romania opened its first store in October 1996, being the first company in Romania introduced a new system for sale - cash & carry. Network company reached a total of 32 distribution centers, with a total sales of approximately 190,000 square meters. In 2012, METRO Cash & Carry Romania SRL created franchise with a network of over 600 franchised stores opened under the name "La Doi Pashi". Metro Cash & Carry Romania remains the second most powerful trader in the local market after the Kaufland. ZF top 100 most valuable companies in 2013, Metro ranks 40 with a value of 395 million euros.
