In July 2000 was founded Finansbank Romania, after it received the approval of the central bank. Finansbank Turkey increased its stake up to 64% through a capital increase in Finansbank Romania. Thus, FIBA Group which includes Finansbank Turkey and Finans Leasing, holds a total of 68.8% in the Romanian branch. Finansbank Romania was renamed into Credit Bank Europe Romania in March 2007, active in retail and commercial banking. Per the end of 2012 Credit Europe Bank N.V. owns five banking subsidiaries, including in Romania. The bank has 71 branches in 43 cities.
