Qatar National Bank (QNB) was established in 1964 as a joint stock company under Emir decree No. 7 issued in 1964. The registered office of the Bank is in Doha, State of Qatar. The bank has an ownership structure split between the Government of Qatar (50%) and the private sector (50%). Its Islamic banking option is called QNB Al Islami and is supervised by a shariah advisory board. The Bank recently established a new investment company QNB Capital providing an array of investment banking services to corporate, government and institutional clients within Qatar and globally. The Bank together with its subsidiaries is engaged in commercial and Islamic banking activities and operates through its head office in Doha and a total of 59 branches and offices in Qatar, in addition to the branches in the United Kingdom, France, Singapore, Yemen, Kuwait, Sultanate of Oman, Mauritania and Sudan, and Representative Offices in Iran and Libya.
