Wojskowe Zaklady Motoryzacyjne S.A. (WZM S.A.) is a Polish defence industry company based in Poznan, operating since 1945 as a specialised plant for armoured and tracked vehicles. The company's core business segments include production, modernisation, modification, overhaul, repair and servicing of tanks and other tracked and wheeled armoured vehicles, as well as the design and manufacture of quick-change power packs for military vehicles. Its portfolio covers services for main battle tanks and armoured reconnaissance and infantry fighting vehicles, including platforms such as Leopard 2, BWP infantry fighting vehicles, armoured reconnaissance vehicles and legacy tank types, and increasingly also the establishment of capabilities for servicing Abrams and K2 tanks acquired by the Polish Armed Forces. In addition, WZM designs and manufactures specialised equipment and tools, test and measurement stands, moulds for plastic and rubber products, machining jigs, punches, bending tools, stamping dies and various spare parts and components used in supported vehicles and other industrial applications. The company also provides training and technical support for users and technical personnel responsible for maintenance of the equipment it services. WZM S.A. operates a large industrial complex in the western part of Poznan with an area of around 260,000 square metres, well connected to road and air transport infrastructure, which constitutes its key production and service asset. The company primarily serves the Polish Armed Forces but also cooperates with foreign original equipment manufacturers and partners in the framework of international programmes and supply chains. It holds certified quality management systems compliant with ISO 9001 and NATO AQAP standards, and it is the only plant in Poland authorised by the relevant OEMs to provide full life-cycle technical support for Leopard 2 tanks in Polish service, covering inspections, repairs, overhauls, modifications and 24/7 service support. Strategically, Wojskowe Zaklady Motoryzacyjne S.A. aims to function as a central armour competence centre for tracked tank platforms operated by the Polish Armed Forces, concentrating industrial capabilities and expertise in heavy tracked technology in Poznan, and focusing on long-term support, modernisation and adaptation of armoured vehicles to evolving operational requirements, while maintaining high standards of quality, reliability and security of supply for defence customers.
