Pomorskie Przedsiębiorstwo Mechaniczno-Torowe sp. z o.o. (PPM-T) was established in 2001 through the merger of the Infrastructure Repair Plant and the Track Machines Plant in Gdansk, as part of the restructuring of the state-owned company Polskie Koleje Państwowe. However, the company's history dates back to 1954 when the Mechanized Road Works Department (DOM) was created in Gdansk. The department primarily focused on major and ongoing repairs of railway surfaces. DOM, along with the Track Machines Plant (DOT) established in 1971 in Gdansk, specializing in the repair of multifunctional track machines, were part of the state-owned PKP. Based on these departments, a new entity called Pomorskie Przedsiębiorstwo Mechaniczno-Torowe sp. z o.o. was formed with its headquarters in Gdansk and branch offices in Gdynia, Bydgoszcz, Maksymilianowo, Malbork, and Inowrocław. PPM-T's mission is to provide high-quality services in the field of railway construction by increasing the modernity and safety of railway infrastructure in Poland. Through continuous search for new technological solutions and support for initiatives that serve the implementation of the adopted strategy, PPM-T is building a strong and modern brand supported by years of experience and the knowledge of a reliable team.
