The Banco de la Microempresa - MIBANCO, was established in March 1998, as the first financial entity to specialize in microfinance and microenterprises in Peru. Mibanco is part of the ACP Group, a holding company with investments in 9 Latin American countries in microfinance, microinsurance, training, corporate services, housing and infrastructure. MiBanco offers a wide variety of financial services such as savings, credit, and microinsurance, among others. In 1998 it started trading on the Lima Stock Exchange. Currently with 117 offices throughout the country, 53 in Lima and 59 in the cities of the interior.
