The Reserve Bank of Peru was created on March 9th, 1922 and commenced operations on April 4th that year. Subsequently, on April 28th, 1931 was transformed into Banco Central de Reserva del Peru. The Central Bank mission is to preserve the monetary stability. Their functions are regulate the quantity of money, to administer the international reservations, to emit notes and currencies and to inform periodically on the national finances.
