The Bank, previously Nepal Indosuez Bank Ltd., was established in 1986 as a joint venture between Nepalese and French partners. The French partner (holding 50 of the capital of NIBL) was Credit Agricole Indosuez, a subsidiary of one of the banking groups in the world. The name of the Bank has been changed to Nepal Investment Bank Ltd. upon the approval of the Bank s Annual General Meeting, Nepal Rastra Bank and Company Registrar s office with the following shareholding structure.
The Bank delisted from Nepal Stock Exchange on 11 January 2023. Nepal Investment Bank Ltd (NIBL) and Mega Bank have started joint operations from 12 January 2023 following a successful merger between the two banks
