Desarrollos Eolicos Mexicanos De Oaxaca 1 S.I.P.I. de C.V. (DEMEX) is a Mexican company based in Mexico City. It was established as a subsidiary of Renovalia Reserve, a company formed in 2011 through the merger of Renovalia Energy and First Reserve. DEMEX specializes in the promotion, exploitation, management, and sale of electricity generated from renewable energy sources. DEMEX has developed 237 MW of wind technology in Oaxaca, Mexico. The project was executed in two phases. The first phase, Piedra Larga I, has an installed capacity of 90 MW and has been operational since November 2012. It supplies energy to Grupo BIMBO, one of the largest bakery companies in the world. The second phase, Piedra Larga II, has an installed capacity of 137.5 MW and has been operational since September 2014. It supplies energy to Walmart, a leading distribution company in Mexico, Latin America, and the world.
