Renuka Hotels Plc is a hotel company located in Colombo, Sri Lanka. It was founded by the late Mr. A.L. Thambiayah, who saw potential in the hotel industry and decided to set up a star class city hotel in Galle Road, Kollupitiya. The first hotel, Hotel Renuka, was commissioned in June 1972. Ravi Thambiayah, the younger son of A.L. Thambiayah, took over the management of the hotel after completing his degree in economics and training at the Royal Lancaster in London. In 1995, Renuka City Hotel was built on the adjacent property under the auspices of a quoted company. Currently, the company is managed by Ravi Thambiayah's two daughters, Shibani Thambiayah and Arnila Thambiayah, who serve as Joint Managing Directors of Renuka Hotels Plc and Renuka City Hotels PLC since February 2010.
