Hyundai Cosmo Petrochemical Co., Ltd. is a petrochemical corporation located in Seosan. It was founded in November 2009 as a joint investment between Hyundai Oilbank and Cosmo Oil, a Japanese oil refining company. The company officially started its operations in February 2010 when it acquired and transferred the BTX business of Hyundai Oilbank, including production facilities and sales network. In response to the increasing petrochemical demand in Asian countries like China and India, Hyundai Cosmo constructed #2BTX in 2013 and PXP/CRU in 2020. These additions feature a BTX production line with a total annual capacity of 1,830,000 tons.
