Central America Bottling Corporation (cbc) is a multinational beverage company based in Guatemala City. Founded in 1885 as a craft beverage company, cbc has the largest portfolio of beverages in the region and exports to over 35 countries. In 1942, cbc was named the first international bottler by PepsiCo for its operational excellence. In 1998, cbc began its international expansion as the anchor bottler for PepsiCo. In 2003, cbc formed a strategic alliance with Ambev, the world's largest brewing company. In 2009, cbc expanded its portfolio to include juices, nectars, and isotonic drinks and acquired the Livsmart plant in El Salvador. They also expanded to the Caribbean and incorporated Pepsi Cola Jamaica and cbc Puerto Rico. In 2011, cbc expanded to South America, entering Ecuador in partnership with Grupo Tesalia and Tropical. That same year, cbc was recognized by PepsiCo as the Best Bottler worldwide. In 2013, cbc joined the United Nations Global Compact, reaffirming its commitment to development and sustainability. In 2016, Livsmart evolved into Beliv, a business unit focused on the development of nutritious and functional beverages. Beliv expanded to Argentina with the brand Citric.
