Confiteca was established on 10 October 1963 under the legal denomination American Chewing Products del Ecuador S.A., selling under the exclusive rights of the american company American Chewing Products Corp. It is the first producer of chewing gums in the country an it is among the 100 biggest producers of candies in the world. In 2006 the company changed its name to Confiteca C.A. as it is known till nowadays. Its main business activity is the production and the commercialisation of sweets. The product lines that it offers are chewing gums, chocolates, chocolate bars and candies and the brands through which it sells are Agogo, Kataboom, Plop, Super Hiper Acido, Jazz, Chocotin, Tumix etc. The company is also operating in Peru and Colombia, where it has its own producing line, Confitec. Through the export activities, it is also present in 34 countries of the world.
