Centrales Electricas del Norte de Santander was born when the hydroelectric plant of Cucuta that was put into service in 1896, started providing a generation capacity of 220 KW. The purpose of the partnership was to provide the public electric power household service and its complementary activities of transmission, distribution and commercialization of electrical energy and all telecommunications services, as well as the commercialization and provision of telecommunication services or activities and complementary activities, in accordance with the legal and regulatory framework to the Department of Norte de Santander.
