Zijin Mining Group Company Limited is a large mining conglomerate based in Xiamen, China. The company specializes in the exploration and development of gold and non-ferrous metal mineral resources. Its subsidiaries are located in over 20 provinces and regions in China, as well as in 8 other countries overseas. Zijin Mining Group is the leading company in China in terms of controlling metal mineral resources, and it is also one of the largest gold producers and the second-largest copper producer in the country. Additionally, it is one of the six major zinc producers in China. The company is currently one of the leading gold producers in China. In terms of gold production rankings in 2007, Zijin Mining Group was ranked 10th among the world's major gold mining companies. The company's core subsidiary, Zijinshan Gold Mine, has become the only world-class gold mine in China in recent years, with the highest usable reserves, mining scale, gold production, lowest ore grade, lowest unit ore processing cost, and economic benefits. In March 2008, the core subsidiary, Zijinshan Gold (Copper) Mine, was recognized as a "China Large Gold Mine" by the China Gold Association.
