The origins of the company go back to the early years of the 20th century. On December 20, 1908, Melon produced its first Portland cement sack at its La Calera plant. Melon has a coverage of more than 50 concrete plants, with presence throughout the whole national territory. In 2008, the company expanded its presence to the south of Chile with the milling plant of Puerto Montt, the southernmost of its type in South America. At the end of the last decade, the aggregate division in the San Bernardo well installs the largest plant at a national level. In February 2011 Melon's most recent investment came into operation: the Ventanas Plant, located in Region V, which reaffirms the company's leadership and consolidates its presence in Region V. United its four divisions are: Cement, Concrete, Mortar and Aggregate.
