Electrica Puntilla S.A. (Chile)

Electrica Puntilla S.A. is a company located in Santiago, Chile. It was incorporated as a Sociedad Anónima Abierta in 2010. The company's main shareholders include Sociedad del Canal de Maipo, Fundación San Carlos de Maipo, Aguas Andinas, Concha y Toro, Instituto Nacional de Investigación Agropecuario, and 180 other individuals and legal entities. In October 2010, Electrica Puntilla S.A. signed a lease agreement with Sociedad del Canal de Maipo for all its electric generation assets and the use of its canal's motive force. This included the transfer of existing contracts for the sale of electric energy, along with their rights and obligations. In December 2011, Electrica Puntilla S.A. was listed on the Santiago Stock Exchange, allowing its shares to be traded on the stock market. In terms of new projects, Electrica Puntilla began the construction of the El Llano and Las Vertientes hydroelectric power plants in the Maipo River basin in 2013, which started operations the same year. Additionally, in September 2012, the company obtained favorable environmental qualification for the Itata Power Plant, located on the river of the same name, and construction began in early 2014. In October 2013, Electrica Puntilla S.A. acquired the electric generation assets of CGE Group from Enerplus S.A., Compañía General de Electricidad S.A., and Transnet S.A. These assets included a hydroelectric power plant in the Ñuble River (Ñuble Project), the San Fabián-Ancoa transmission line, and the Tinguiririca, Allipén, Claro de Rengo, Lontué, and Teno projects. To manage the Ñuble Project, a subsidiary called HidroÑuble Spa was created, which began construction of the power plant in the municipality of San Fabián in the second half of 2014. In March 2015, Electrica Puntilla S.A. established Sistema de Transmisión del Centro S.A. (STC), a closed joint-stock company, in partnership with Sistema de Transmisión del Sur S.A., a subsidiary of SAESA. The objective of STC is to construct and operate the San Fabián - Ancoa 2x220kV High Voltage Line to inject the electric energy and power from the Ñuble Hydroelectric Project into the Central Interconnected System (SIC). Additionally, STC and Hidroeléctrica Ñuble SpA signed a toll agreement to regulate the conditions of use for the San Fabián - Ancoa 2x220kV High Voltage Line and its facilities.
