Aguas De Teresina Saneamento Spe S.A. is a company located in Teresina, the capital of Piauí. Since July 7, 2017, the company has been responsible for providing water supply and sewage treatment services in the city. Their goal is to make Teresina a reference in sanitation in the Northeast region of Brazil. Currently, Aguas De Teresina serves 1 million people with treated water, ensuring the quality of the supply. They also provide sewage treatment to over 310,000 residents. The city has a water network infrastructure of 3,142 km and a sewage network of 656.498 km. The company aims to universalize water supply within three years, expand sewage collection and treatment to 90%, and reduce water loss from 59% to 25% within 10 years. This will prevent the wastage of 4,304,541 m³ of water per month, which is enough to supply a city with 797,137 inhabitants. To achieve these goals, Aguas De Teresina will invest R$ 1.7 billion, with R$ 650 million being allocated in the first five years of the concession.
