Bosnian privately-owned NLB Tuzlanska banka d.d. became a separate legal entity and a joint stock company under the name Tuzlanska banka d.d., Tuzla on April 1, 1990, after the split of PBS Sarajevo in nine banks. On September 5, 2005 Slovenia's Nova Ljubljanska Banka (NLB) acquired 81.5% stake in Tuzlanska banka d.d. for EUR 27.3 million and on April 6, 2006, Tuzlanska banka d.d was renamed to NLB Tuzlanska banka d.d., Tuzla. NLB had already entered the Bosnian financial market by taking over CBS Bank d.d., Sarajevo in 2000. In July 2006 CBS Bank d.d., Sarajevo merged into NLB Tuzlanska Banka d.d. NLB Tuzlanska Banka d.d., which specializes in retail and corporate banking, operates nearly 30 branches across the Muslim-Croat Federation.
