95% of the assets of the company are controlled by Albanesi S.A. Generación Mediterránea S.A. owns the dual-fuel thermoelectric power plant located in Río Cuarto, Córdoba. The plant had originally an installed capacity of 70 MW in two combined cycles (35 MW each). Each cycle consists of a Gas Frame 5, a generator and a vapor turbine. In October 2008, the plant completed its first expansion with two new gas Pratt & Whitney Power System Inc. ("PW") turbines; model SwiftPac 60, FT8-3. Both units have two aero derivative gas turbines of 30 MW each, transmitting their power to a single generator providing greater flexibility in the operation. In 2010, a third 60 MW PW SwiftPac 60, FT8-3 turbine was installed reaching a total capacity of 250 MW. The plant is connected to the Argentine Interconnected System (SADI) through the high- voltage network of the Provincial Energy Company of Córdoba (EPEC). Generación Mediterránea counts with a training program for all the engineers of the Group, and also for suppliers, regarding the development of new power plants and expansions.
