Kolubara Gasbeton was founded in 1980 as the only producer of airated concrete in Serbia. Today, Kolubara uses the airated concrete under the linense of Sweden's YTONG to produce construction material such as ceiling and roofing tiles, floor dividing tiles and wall blocks.
Kolubara’a major production lines are production of non-reinforced and reinforced concrete. Non-reinforced concrete is further processed to produce wall blocks and isolation tiles. Reinforced concrete is further processed to produce roof and floor dividing tiles, horizontal, vertical wall tiles and ceiling tiles. The Company occupies a site of 8 ha. Currently the company operates with full utilization of its installed capacity. Kolubara gasbeton has demonstrated strong growth over the past three years. With 220,000 cubic meters of gas concrete, the company's production will hit a record high by the year-end.
German Xella Porenbeton AG has acquired a 70% stake in Kolubara Gasbeton for USD 3.5mln. Also, the buyer has committed to invest additional USD 10.2mln into the company and pay USD 2.2mln for the soccial program.
