Pik-becej Doo Becej (Serbia)

Agricultural combine PIK Becej was founded in 1959 with merger of few agricultural and industrial enterprises. The company's agricultural activities comprise farming, pig, cattle and fish breeding, vegetable and fruit processing etc. A yearly production of stubbled granules amounts 25.000 tons, of which 11.000 tons are seed. The company also produces 3.500 tons of vegetable and 180 tons of vegetable seed yearly. Glasshouses and greenhouses occupying 3 hectares area.
PIK Becej additional activities include tourism, civil engineering, retail and wholesale trade. Within the company operate the working unit Gradjevinar that maintains existing and builds new objects for the Combine needs.
It also possesses a fish pond with an area of 650 ha for production of consumed fish. 450 tons of consumed fish yearly is delivered on the domestic market and through own retail shops and restaurants. The company owns a factory for fruit juice, pickled and frozen food production. The factory has juice production capacity of 2.000 tons.
In mid-2007, the Privatization Agency sold a 40.9% stake in PIK Becej for EUR 12.3 million to a consortium comprising local investment company Irva Investicije and British Virgin Islands-based Forum Absolute Return Fund.
