Holcim Serbia, former Novi Popovac Cement Company, is one of the leading cement manufacturers in Serbia with installed capacity of 1.35 million tonnes per year. The company was established in 1889. The plant produced 900,000 tonnes of cement in 2004, which was 42% of the country's total cement production. Domestic suppliers cover 100% of the company's needs. It sells its products on the domestic market only.
In October 2006, the company opened a EUR 2 million concrete plant near Belgrade.
In 2008, Swiss cement group Holcim increased its stake in the Serbian unit to 100%. The company was renamed to CRH (Srbija) D.O.O. Popovac in 2016.
