Apatin's Jedinstvo is a well-established producer of industrial crops, vegetables, fish and cattle with sales of EUR 7m in 2002. Jedinstvo ranks among the largest in Serbia and Montenegro in terms of cultivated land and production volumes. The company is located in the town of Apatin, in Vojvodina region, 210 km northwest of Belgrade near Yugoslav border with Croatia and Hungary. Company’s total cultivable land is 5,896 ha, which is highly utilized. The company has its own storage facilities (silos) with a total capacity of 35,000 tones. The company also has fishponds covering an area of 500 ha. In addition, there is a cattle farm with a capacity to produce 150,000 kg of meat annually, as well as an animal feed production plant. Company’s principle market is the domestic market. In 2002, Jedinstvo realized 18,067 tones of maize worth EUR 2,139k, 10,172 tones of wheat for EUR 908k, 5,272 tons of soy for EUR 964k, and 222 tones of fish for EUR 460k. “Jedinstvo” is a 100% socially owned enterprise. It was offered for sale through tender. After the completion of privatization, the company will operate as a private company.
