Banca Intesa Beograd was established in 1991 under the Delta Banka name. It offers a wide range of banking services and products to individuals, entrepreneurs, small and medium-sized enterprises, big companies and local self-governments through a network of near 200 branches in more than 100 cities across Serbia.
In July 2001, Delta Banka merged with Tigar banka A.D. Pirot, a move followed by another merger - with local Poljoprivredno investiciona banka A.D. Novi Sad in December 2003. In 2005, Italian Intesa Holding acquired a 90% stake in the bank for EUR 324.28 million and in January 2007 it increased its share to 93%. In December 2007, Panonska banka Novi Sad merged into Banca Intesa. As of 2017, Intesa is market leader in Serbia in terms of Total Assets, Total Operating Revenue and Total Equity.
