Apatinska Pivara is a Serbian brewery located in the town of Apatin in the Vojvodina region. The privatization process of the company began in 1991.
The Serbian brewer manufactures Jelen, Niksicko, Staropramen, Beck’s and Stella Artois brands. It has the capacity to produce 3 million hectoliters of beer per year. The company operates 6 distribution centers – in Odzaci, Indjija, Mladenovac, Novi Sad, Cacak and Nis.
In 2002, Interbrew S.A. bought a 9.37% share of Apatinska Pivara and in 2003 it became majority shareholder.
In December 2009, Interbrew Central European Holding, which is part of Anheuser-Busch InBev Group, sold its 99.99% stake in the brewery to Amsterdam-based StarBev. The new owner is part of UK-based CVC Capital Partners.
According to Euromonitor International, in 2010 Apatinska Pivara ranked 1st with a 57.1% value share of the local beer market.
