The Company is engaged in the business of underwriting Non-Life Insurance and is also authorized by Royal Monetary Authority to provide Financing Investment Services, Managing Private Provident Fund (PPF) and Gratuity Fund Management (GFM). Today the Company has a country wide network connected through the latest technology for quick communication and response in over 17 dzongkhags.
The Company expanded its service network progressively with the Head Office in Thimphu, Branch Offices in Phuentsholing, Paro, Wangduephodrang, Gelephu and Samdrup Jongkhar. Extension Offices in Bumthang, Mongar, Tsirang, Tashigang, Trongsa, Samtse, Zhemgang, Nganlam, Khuruthang, Gedu, Haa, Trashiyangtse, Dagelapela, Babesa, City office Main Town Thimphu and Paro Extension at Paro Lango.
In 2009:
The Company was incorporated under the Companies Act of the Kingdom of Bhutan 2000 on August 20, 2009.
The Company s shares were listed on Bhutan Stock Exchange.
RMA granted license to engage in business of General Insurance on August14, 2009.
Initial Public Offer (IPO) of 60 of the companies share on August 20, 2009.
The Company started business operations in Thimphu on August 20, 2009.
In 2010:
RMA granted approval to operate Financing Investment Department on April 19, 2010.
Introduction of Private Provident Fund Scheme on May 24, 2010.
In 2013: The Company launched Workmen s Compensation Insurance on May 15, 2013.
In 2014:
The Company launched Student Care Policy on February 17, 2014.
The Company launched Insurance on wheels on August 4, 2014.
RMA granted approval to manage Gratuity Fund on August 13, 2014.
