History:
On February 4, 2002, in order to meet the increasing demand for electricity, especially in the Northeastern provinces, Quang Ninh Thermal Power Joint Stock Company was permitted by the Government to be established;
On December 16, 2002, the Company was granted the first Business Registration Certificate by the Department of Planning and Investment of Quang Ninh province with a charter capital of VND 2,800 billion;
On May 19, 2004: Officially started leveling the ground for Quang Ninh Thermal Power Plant No. 1 (NDQN 1);
On October 31, 2005: The EPC contract signing ceremony for the NDQN 1 project was held;
On April 2, 2006: Started construction of the main plant of the NDQN 1 Project;
November 16, 2006: The EPC contract signing ceremony for the Quang Ninh 2 Thermal Power Plant (NDQN 2) project was held;
May 28, 2007: The main plant of the NDQN 2 Project started construction in Ha Khanh Ward, Ha Long City, Quang Ninh Province.
On May 12, 2009, Unit 1 of the NDQN 1 Project was officially synchronized for the first time to the national grid, completed reliable operation (RTR) in March 2010 and was granted a conditional temporary acceptance certificate (PAC) in July 2011.
On June 2, 2010, TM2 of the NDQN 1 Project was synchronized to the national grid, completed reliable operation (RTR) in October 2010 and was granted a conditional PAC in April 2011.
On July 1, 2012, both TMs of the NDQN 1 Plant officially participated in the competitive power generation market.
On December 13, 2012, TM3 of the NDQN 2 Project was synchronized for the first time and officially generated power into the national grid, completed reliable operation in June 2013 and was granted a PAC from January 1, 2014.
On September 9, 2013, TM4 of Quang Ninh 2 Project was officially synchronized for the first time to the national grid, completed reliable operation in January 2014 and was granted PAC from March 16, 2014.
On June 1, 2015, both TMs of NDQN 2 Plant officially participated in the competitive power generation market.
On January 13, 2016, the Company signed a power purchase agreement merging the two power purchase agreements NDQN 1 and NDQN 2 with EVN No. 01/2016/HD-NMD-QN.
2017: The Company s shares were listed for the first time on Upcom with the code QTP from March 16, 2017.
