The company provides fire insurance, marine insurance, automobile insurance, engineering insurance, liability insurance, guarantee insurance, injury insurance, health insurance and reinsurance, etc. Specifically, fire insurance includes commercial fire insurance and residence fire insurance. Marine insurance includes cargo transportation insurance, hull insurance and fishing vessel insurance, among others, The company operates its businesses primarily in Taiwan. As of December 31, 2009, the company had five branches in Taiwan. On November 19, 2010 The First Insurance Co., Ltd. received “twA+” and ‘BBB’ ratings and outlook stable for its issue credit and financial strength, from Taiwan Ratings and Standard & Poor’s respectively.
