Tang Eng Iron Works Co., Ltd. (Taiwan, China)

In 1940 the company was set up. In 1957 it was reorganized as a limited company. Then it set up brick factory in Kaohsiung, machinery factory in Taipei. Casting factory was established in 1960. 1962 the company was reorganized as a provincial-owned enterprise. Construction factory was founded in 1967. ZTE alloy steel plant was completed in 1968 and started production. ZTE was established in 1972, and set up technical cooperation with Japan's Mitsubishi. ZTE stainless steel plant was built in 1979. In 1985 ZTE was renamed as steel plant and the casting Factory divided into casting, mechanical workshops belonging to steel plant. Refractory Plant was abolished, and Construction plant was changed to construction department. In 1991 stainless steel plant and rolling steel expansion project was under construction. Steel and stainless steel plant in 1993 completed the expansion rolling. In 1995 Stainless Steel Factory obtained ISO9002 quality certification. From 1996 to 1998, steel mills, machinery plants and construction department obtained ISO9002 quality certification. To cope with the virtual level of provincial government policy, the company became to a utility in Ministry of Economic Affairs.
