Founded in 1973, SOLOMON positioned itself as a professional dealer of electronic components from Europe, United States and Japan. In 1978, it expanded to the business of importing power equipment. In 1988, it further established four plants in automated toilet facility controls with optic electronics, LCD display module, wireless communication switching devices, and battery modules. In addition, it also engaged in the research and design of IC cards and related peripherals. In 1992, it formally became involved with the research and development of hardware and software in IC cards and became a major domestic supplier in IC cards and Reader Cards. In 1995, it engaged in joint venture with Toshiba in producing Ni MH battery units for use in notebook computers. Since then, it began to invest directly in the upper stream industries in semi-conductors and has been successfully listed its stocks in the centralized market for trading. In 1999, the SOLOMON Group was formed. It acquired the Qing Cheng Enterprises Ltd. in Hong Kong and Motorola LCD IC R&D division to found the SOLOMON Systech Ltd, which laid down the milestone for overseas expansion. In 2000, the group turns to the convergence of core competence and to create a new epoch, and actively integrates various core businesses.
