Founded in April 1989, Great Computer Corp. set up the headquarter plant in Nankang, Taipei in December and mainly produced flatbed plotters. The company developed the first-generation and second-generation computerized cutting plotter transformed from flatbed plotter in March 1995 and August 1996 respectively. In July 1998, it developed the first-generation laser engraving machine. In July 1999 it successfully launched a new generation of LaserPro laser engraving machine-Mercury Series. In April 2000 it produced the world's smallest and lightest laser engraving machine Venus. In July 2000 it launched a large laser engraving machine Neptune. In October 2000 the company was formally registered as Great Computer (Kunshan) Co., Ltd. and in July 2001 it applied for public offering and was approved and certified. In July 2002 the company was granted the British UKASISO9001: 2000 quality certification. At present computerized cutting plotter accounted for 41.96% of its total revenue and laser engraving machine 50.12%. Currently its ongoing research and development projects include: A. shock mirror laser engraving machine. B.ID Card Printer3. C. inkjet printing system technology and equipment development. D. large format thermal transfer color printing and cutting machines. E. Laser engraving machine software.
