EnTie Commercial Bank (“EnTie” or the “Bank”) was established in June 1992 with operations started on the 15th day of April 1993. Throughout the years, EnTie had assumed all assets and liabilities of Taipei’s 7th Credit Cooperative on July 27, 1998 and expanded the Bank’s branch network. In November 2007, EnTie successfully closed a capital injection by a consortium led by a private equity fund, the Longreach Group, and recruited a new management team to transform the Bank into a customer-oriented modern financial services provider. Apart from Longreach Group, shareholders of EnTie consist of many internationally well-known financial investors such as ORIX of Japan and Swiss Re. They provide the utmost support and assistance in rebuilding the Bank into a modern, internationalized and efficient commercial bank. Ever since its establishment, the Bank has set professionalism in operations and the pursuit of stable growth as its goals, and has held fast to its operational guidelines of quality service, regulatory compliance, and innovation. It has also made the provision of financial products and services that cater to its customer’s needs and, by means of a sincere, professional and efficient approach to its business, has provided each of its customers with the most convenient and safest financial and wealth management services. In order to maintain its competitive advantage and appropriately control asset quality, in addition to engaging in research into new financial products and payment services that are suited to the local economic environment, and thereby provide customers with a broad range of wealth-related activities and funding channels, the Bank will at the same time continue to enhance its risk management system, and will simplify operating procedures and renew its organizational structure, so that the Bank can obtain the greatest return for an acceptable amount of risk, and thereby enhance its operational efficiency. At present, the Bank has 53 operating units across Taiwan, of which 34 are in the Greater Taipei area, 8 in and around Taoyuan and Hsinchu, 4 in Taichung, 3 in Chiayi and Tainan, and 4 in Kaohsiung area. In order to enable its service network to become even more comprehensive, the Bank will in the future not only continue to increase the number of its business outlets, but will also expand and develop through the provision of automated and Internet banking services. Facing the intensive competition in the banking sector, the Bank has successfully recruited Mr. Jesse Ding as President and CEO, who has extensive and respectable experiences in various foreign and local financial institutions, to adjust the strategic direction, to lead professional managers in achieving business targets, to introduce new business models, to strengthen capital structure and risk bearing capabilities, and to increase quality of services while expanding diversifying product offerings. With all these, we believe that we will leapfrog our competitors and continue our growth momentum in a still tough financial market. Stock of EnTie was traded on the over-the-counter market on December 27, 1995 and has been listed on the Taiwan Stock Exchange since September 27, 1999 with the ticker of 2849.
