Pegasus Hava Tasimaciligi Anonim Sirketi, also known as Pegasus Airlines, is an aviation company founded in Istanbul in 1990. It was established as a joint venture between Aer Lingus, Silkar Investment, and Net Holding. In 2005, it was acquired by ESAS Holding. Pegasus Airlines started operating scheduled domestic flights in November 2005 as a low-cost airline carrier, becoming the fourth scheduled airline in Turkey. The company believes in the "low-cost model" and aims to provide affordable air transportation to everyone. Güliz Öztürk serves as the General Manager, while Mehmet T Nane is the chairman of the board of directors. Pegasus Airlines has expanded its flight network over the years, currently offering flights to 129 destinations in 48 countries, including 36 domestic and 93 international destinations. The company focuses on providing a pleasant travel experience and has introduced ancillary services to support its low-cost carrier model. As of March 2023, Pegasus Airlines has a workforce of 6,973 employees. The company has made investments in flight safety and technology, including establishing Turkey's newest flight training center and integrating the Wireless Groundlink End to End Network Solutions system into its fleet. Pegasus Airlines became the first private airline listed on the stock exchange in Turkey, trading on Borsa Istanbul under the code "PGSUS" since April 26, 2013.
