Kiptas Istanbul Konut Imar Plan Turizm Ulasim Sanayi Ve Ticaret Anonim Sirketi, also known as KİPTAŞ, is a company located in Istanbul, Turkey. It was established in 1987 as İMAR WEIDLEPLAN with foreign capital partnership to carry out urban planning and architectural projects. KİPTAŞ is a subsidiary of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality and was restructured in March 1995, taking on the name Istanbul Konut İmar Plan Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş. As a public enterprise, KİPTAŞ has constructed over 80,000 residential units in various areas of Istanbul as part of its projects. While its main expertise lies in housing production, the company is also involved in urban transformation, real estate development, and consultancy services. Under its new management, which took office in August 2019, KİPTAŞ aims to provide good living conditions for everyone by focusing on design-oriented, original projects that are affordable for all income groups. The company's vision is to build trust with the people of Istanbul by carrying out participatory and sustainable transformation projects with a focus on disaster-resistant structures, rather than profit-oriented ones. KİPTAŞ has successfully completed four social housing projects consisting of 2,095 independent units, which are environmentally friendly, people-centered, and add value to the surrounding area. The company has delivered these projects to the rightful owners ahead of the promised deadline. In these social housing projects, KİPTAŞ has designated healthcare workers and residents of the neighborhood where the social housing is located as privileged groups. Actively involved in Istanbul's urban transformation, KİPTAŞ's new management has launched the Istanbul Yenileniyor platform, which provides technical and financial guarantees for Istanbul residents who want to transform their risky buildings. This platform, coordinated by the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality's Urban Planning Group (KİPTAŞ, Istanbul İmar AŞ, BİMTAŞ), offers a turnkey process for the transformation of these buildings. For the first time in its history, KİPTAŞ's new management has organized public auctions, selling the company's real estate assets through open bidding, which is accessible to everyone and conducted online. This has resulted in the properties being sold at prices higher than their base values. The revenue generated from these auctions is allocated as funding for urban transformation and social housing projects.
