Isiklar Holding Anonim Sirketi is a company located in Istanbul, Turkey. It was founded by Turgut Isik, who named it after the Turgut Isik Foundation. The company was established in 1932 in Bartin, Turkey. Turgut Isik initially worked in his family's businesses before co-founding Işıklar Kollektif Şirketi with his father in 1952. After his father's death in 1959, Turgut Isik established Işıklar Limited Şirketi and later converted it into a joint-stock company. The company entered the industrial sector with the establishment of Işıklar Bartın Brick Factory. Over the years, Turgut Isik founded and operated several other companies, including Baksan Bartın Paper, Meytaş Lime, and Çumra Paper Bag Factories. He also established Işıklar Denizcilik, a maritime group consisting of Bargem, Bartaş, Bartın Gemi, and Barden companies, which owned a fleet of tankers and cargo ships. Isiklar Holding expanded into the construction and contracting sector with the establishment of Özışık Construction and Contracting and Genta Industrial Facilities and Contracting. In 1974, all of the company's subsidiaries were brought under the umbrella of Isiklar Holding. After Turgut Isik's passing in 1990, his sons Rıza Kutlu Isik and Uğur Isik took over as President and Vice President of Isiklar Holding, representing the third generation of the family. Under their leadership, Isiklar Holding made significant acquisitions, including the privatized Çimhol Holding in 1995. The group also acquired Metemteks and BND Elektrik in 2011 and established Işıklar Paper Sack, the first kraft bag factory in Erbil, Iraq. In 2019, Isiklar Holding established Işıklar Software and Technology in Bulgaria and introduced its own cryptocurrency called Işık Coin (isikc), which is traded on three different cryptocurrency exchanges. The company also acquired Elen Hunting, the most famous hunting ground in Bulgaria, with 11,000 hectares of forest and two accommodation facilities. In 2021, Isiklar Holding installed a 6 MW solar power plant within the Çemaş Döküm factory premises and began generating a significant portion of its electricity consumption. The company's commitment to sustainability was further solidified when Isiklar Enerji and Yapı Holding and Çemaş UN Global Compact were accepted as signatories, aligning with the group's sustainability goals.
