Ratch Pathana Energy PCL, located in Chon Buri, is a company operating in the energy business under the Saha Group. It includes Sahacogen (Chonburi) Public Company Limited and its subsidiaries, Sahacogen Green Company Limited and Sahagreen Forest Company Limited. The company established its first cogeneration combined cycle power plant in 1999 in Saha Group Industrial Park, Sriracha, Chonburi province. To meet the growing electricity demand from factories in Saha Group Industrial Park, Sriracha, the company decided to expand its third phase combined-cycle cogeneration power plant. This plant has a net capacity of 28.7 Megawatts of electricity and 15 tons of steam per hour. It started commercial operation on November 20, 2018, bringing the company's total cogeneration capacity to 202.7 MW of electricity and 96 tons of steam per hour. In addition to its expansion efforts, Sahacogen & Affiliates focuses on renewable energy and social business enterprise with a commitment to community, social, and environmental responsibility. Sahacogen Green Company Limited was established to develop a cogeneration power plant using biomass as fuel. This plant has an installed capacity of 9.6 MW of electricity and 25 tons of steam per hour. It started commercial operation in March 2011, distributing electricity to the Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA) under the Very Small Power Producers (VSPP) program and steam to factories within Saha Group Industrial Park, Lamphun. The company has also planted 6,000 Rais of fast-growing trees as a sustainable biomass source. Motivated by the success of renewable energy development and fast-growing tree plantations, Sahacogen established Sahagreen Forest Company Limited. This company develops a power plant with an installed capacity of 7.5 Megawatts, using eucalyptus bark, branches from the paper pulp production process of the Siam Cement Group, and other agro residues as fuel. The plant, located in Prankratai district, Kamphaengphet province, started commercial operation in December 2012, distributing electricity to the PEA VSPP program. In 2017, Sahacogen made a joint investment of 21% in Impact Solar Co., Ltd., which is involved in the solar rooftop business. The company is committed to moving towards green energy businesses.
