It is a fixed capital corporation, which acquired 95.61% of the shares of Banco Cuscatlan de El Salvador S.A, 75% of the shares of AFP Confía S.A. and 100% of the shares of IFC, S.A. It is engaged in providing banking services and products, insurance, personal loans, credit cards and investment products through its subsidiaries. In 2016 Impera Intercontinental acquired Citibank in El Salvador which resulted in a change of the company name to Inversiones Financieras Imperia Cuscatlán. S.A.
