Corporacion UBC Internacional S.A. is a company located in San Salvador, El Salvador. It was founded in 1972 as Banco CUSCATLAN and has been a reference for excellence and innovation in the Salvadoran banking industry for the Central American region. In 2007, the shareholders of Banco CUSCATLAN sold their operations to CitiBank, and the legendary brand disappeared from the Salvadoran market. However, in 2016, CitiBank decided to sell its operations in El Salvador to Imperia Intercontinental S.A., who then decided to revive and relaunch Banco CUSCATLAN. The company aims to be the leading bank in El Salvador, providing maximum customer satisfaction and creating responsible value for its clients and the country. Banco CUSCATLAN is a leader in the credit card market and has received recognition from international publications such as Global Finance, Latin Finance, and Euromoney. In 2019, as part of its growth strategy, the company acquired the operations of Scotiabank El Salvador and Scotia Seguros, making it the fastest-growing bank in the Salvadoran banking industry over the past five years and the second-largest bank in El Salvador.
