Nemocnica Poprad, a.s. is a healthcare company located in Poprad, Slovakia. It was founded on December 10, 1911, as the Tatra Hospital in Poprad-Spišská Sobota. In 1918, the hospital came under the ownership of the Czechoslovak Red Cross. Over the years, the hospital underwent expansions and improvements, including the opening of a new polyclinic in 1971 and the establishment of new departments in 1974. On August 31, 2002, it was reclassified as a hospital with a polyclinic of the III. type. In accordance with the law on healthcare providers, the company Nemocnica Poprad, a.s. was established on December 15, 2005, and officially registered on February 20, 2006. The company is the legal successor of the state-subsidized organization Nemocnica s poliklinikou Poprad. As an incorporated company, Nemocnica Poprad, a.s. provides healthcare services and operates as a legal entity with its own rights and responsibilities.
