Founded in 1990, Ikar Publishing Company has since developed from a small company into the one of houses in Slovakia, focusing on the widest reader community. Today besides its publishing business Ikar also carries out wholesale and retail activities. Moreover, it is part of the reading club - Media Club. Ikar publishes books for the whole family, including fiction for men, women and children, poetry and prose, historical and factual literature, popular-science literature for children and adults, encyclopaedias and other publications. Ikar distributes its titles through its own wholesale warehouses in Bratislava and Banska Bystrica, both through the Media Club and via its own retail network of eight stores.
