"Uzhno-Uralskii Nikelevyi Kombinat" (Southern Ural Nickel Plant) is a large enterprise for ferrous metals, whose share in world production of nickel is more than 1%. It is a part of Oriel Resources Ltd. where all ferroalloy companies of Mechel Group are consolidated (100% of Oriel Resources Ltd. shares are owned by Mechel OAO). The Yuzhuralnikel Plant includes two mines for the extraction of nickel ore - Saharinsk and Buruktalsk that provide a stable source of raw materials for the company. The main activity of the Southern Ural Nickel Plant are mining and production of nickel and its compounds. At present, the Southern Ural Nickel Plant consists of two mines for the extraction of nickel ore - Saharinsky and Buruktal. Production facilities of Yuzhuralnickel are 17.5 thousand tons of pure nickel per year. Up to 80% of production is being exported.
