AO "Sibirskii Gorno-Metallurgicheskii Alliance" (AO "SiGMA") is implementing an investment project for the construction of the Ozernovskiy mining and metallurgical plant in the Karaginsky district of the Kamchatka region. The project was designated as a priority within the development of the Far East, with two construction stages: 140 and 600 thousand tons of ore per year. The Ozernovskiy GMK is included in the National Program for the Socio-Economic Development of the Far East until 2024 and beyond 2035. The first stage of construction was developed in 2014, including pilot-industrial works for the extraction and processing of ore in the BAM and Khomut Ozernovskiy deposits in the Kamchatka region. The project successfully passed the main state and state environmental expertise. In 2020, the project was adjusted and also received positive conclusions from the main state and state environmental expertise. In the same year, a report was compiled with an estimate of reserves, which were approved by the state commission on reserves under protocol No. 6300 dated March 13, 2020, with a quantity of 42 tons of gold. Currently, the construction of the first stage of the gold extraction plant has been completed, and permission for its operation has been obtained. In addition, a dormitory for 20 people and a residential building consisting of a dining room, medical center, and auxiliary premises have been put into operation. The construction of a second dormitory for 84 people and a bath-laundry complex is ongoing. The total capacity of the shift camp is designed for 400 people, with its completion scheduled for 2025. Previously, with the subsidy funds from the federal budget amounting to 758.4 million rubles, an access road from Lyzyk to the Ozernovskiy deposit with a length of 62 km was built. The subsidy was granted due to the status of a priority project for the development of the Far East as one of the measures to provide the investor with infrastructure. The company aims to construct the second stage in 2023-2025, with its operation starting in early 2026. The further development of the enterprise is associated with the implementation of the projected potential of the Ozernovskiy ore field, which allows for an increase in gold production to 3 or more tons per year.
