State Unitary Enterprise "Fuel and Energy Complex of St. Petersburg" is the largest coal power company in the North-West of Russia. The share of companies in the St. Petersburg market of thermal energy is about 45%. Main activities include production and supply of heat energy to consumers of St. Petersburg; transporting of generated heat not belonging to the enterprise, the exploitation of urban heating systems engineering. The State Unitary Enterprise owns 278 boilers. The company also supplies hot water to about 12 000 houses of St. Petersburg, which are homes of some 2.5 million residents. Among the basic clients of the company are houses, welfare facilities - hospitals, schools, kindergartens, and numerous manufacturing facilities. The entire property is state-owned enterprises by the government of St. Petersburg. The company employs about 10,000 people.
