"AirBridgeCargo" (ABC), part of Volga-Dnepr Group, entered the scheduled cargo market in May 2004 when the first AirBridgeCargo branded Boeing 747 made its inaugural commercial flight. This milestone for the Group was the realization of two years or preliminary work to build the airline’s fleet, network, management and personnel under its Russian Scheduled Cargo Operation Development Strategy. Today, AirBridgeCargo is the largest Russian carrier in the international scheduled cargo market. It operates Boeing 747 all-cargo flights via Russian cargo hub in Moscow, which provide a significant reduction in transit times for its customers. ABC is the first Russian airline to operate Boeing 747s. АВС’s current fleet consists of eleven Boeing 747 freighters: two B747-200F, one B747-300F and eight B747-400. In the future, the airline’s fleet will be expanded with the addition of new generation, long-haul Boeing 747-8F freighters. Volga-Dnepr has five of these aircraft on order from Boeing for delivery between 2011 and 2013 and options for five more of the same type. The airline’s capacity is available for transporting any type of cargo, including shipments requiring special handling or a temperature-controlled environment.
