Established in 1921, Terapia is the largest generic pharmaceutical company in Romania with strong brands and a consistent track record of growth. Terapia SA has a large product portfolio and a robust distribution network, including the largest generic sales force in the country. On 8 June 2006, Ranbaxy Laboratories Ltd. announced the completion of acquisition by Ranbaxy Netherlands BV of 96.7% of Terapia SA. After this acquisition, the company was liquidated, saw the establishment of a new company with the trade name of Terapia Ranbaxy, keeping legal name of Terapia SA. Today company become a subsidiary of Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd.
